Plant Health Care has been the focus of my career for 25 years. My experience spans pesticide regulation, field operations, employee training, team leadership, product distribution, and the development of profitable Plant Health Care programs.

After earning my agricultural degree from UC Davis in 2001, I began my career as an Agricultural Biologist for Napa County, primarily enforcing pesticide-use regulations. Wanting to help businesses prevent problems—not simply issue enforcement letters—I moved into a hands-on position as a Landscape Pest Control Technician in San Jose.

During my 11 years with that company, I helped grow its landscape pest control operation by 733%, increasing annual revenue from $60,000 to $500,000 in just four years. A major part of that success came from teaching account managers how to identify client needs and confidently present Plant Health Care services. I also provided annual pesticide safety training to more than 200 employees.

I later spent two years in distribution, hosting Continuing Education Unit seminars and helping more than 60 arboriculture and landscape companies develop their own Plant Health Care programs. My work included product selection, soil and pest management guidance, pesticide safety instruction, and support for several Bay Area municipalities.

I then served for seven years as a Plant Health Care Supervisor for an established Bay Area tree company, leading a team of six technicians. During this period, I served five years on the Board of the California Association of Pest Control Advisors and became President of its San Francisco Bay Chapter.

Most recently, I helped 15 tree companies strengthen and grow their Plant Health Care operations.

I founded CalSafe PHC Consulting to put that experience to work for arboriculture and landscape businesses. My goal is to help companies build safe, compliant, efficient, and profitable Plant Health Care programs—without overwhelming their owners, managers, or employees.

With the right systems, training, and support, Plant Health Care can become a reliable source of growth rather than another burden to manage.
